Bastrop is a city and county seat of Bastrop County Texas. It is located about 30 miles southeast of Austin and it is part of the Greater Austin metropolitan area. Bastrop is also located near the Colorado River. Climate wise Bastrop tends to be cooler than any other central Texas cities but can reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer.
